Center of Attention

Ok - here is something that I posted back on August 21st 2008, about 3 1/2 months before he was born.

SCORPIO BABY: When a Scorpio baby enters the world, all eyes will focus on them. And that's exactly how it will be for a long time to come, as this baby must be the center of attention! To that end, this is quite the manipulative little tot, sucking up energy from everyone around. You must also consider power struggles when thinking of this child, as the Scorpio baby will expect that Mom, Dad, and everyone else will fit into their schedule and plans. Make no mistake, this is a powerful child! The flip side of this is that this baby is quite clear on what they want and can get that message across. Someone will generally be watching this child, though, as the Scorpio tot enjoys a crowd, especially one where it can lead. To sum up, the Scorpio baby is clever, wants things on their own terms, and will know how to get it.

I don't know how much I can agree with the manipulative part (yet), but the rest is so spot on! He is a very happy baby, but make no mistake, he know's what he wants and would prefer that he receives these things without pause.

We had a very busy and entertaining week with my parents. These are some pictures that my dad took, and I just cannot help but wonder where my little baby has gone! To me, it just looks like he has grown up so much in the last couple weeks.

More Fun In The Sun

The days and the nights have been so beautiful up here in Northern, CA lately that we made another trip out to the river last weekend. It was a good thing we did, as it will probably be our last trip for awhile.

The first reason is due to the fact that all of a sudden, the temperatures have jumped up to over 100 degrees (yuck). And two, our weekends are pretty much full from now until the beginning of August. This weekend my parents are visiting (we love having you guys by the way), then next weekend is Fourth of July, the two weekends after that we will be in Cabo, and then the following weekend, Jeff and I are heading to Cincinnati for Megan's wedding!

In Aiden news, he is lucky enough to have Grandma and Grandpa Martz chasing him around during the days this week while we are at work. Little man was tuckered out last night! He was snoring in my arms only 2 minutes into his night-time bottle.
Still no teeth yet, but he is just days away from crawling. He is so cute rocking back and forth on all fours right now. I've got the video camera on standby to make sure and catch him when he figures it out. Time to baby-proof the house!

Happy Fathers Day Jeff! You are such a wonderful father to our baby boy. Thank you for everything that you do for our family. We love you so much!

And a very happy Father's Day to my dad and all of the other wonderful dads out there. Hope everyone had a good weekend and spent some time being thankful for the wonderful gifts in their life.

Concerts In The Park

Every Friday throughout the summer months, the City of Folsom puts on free concerts in the park right by our house. They are so much fun, and Aiden did so well.

Aiden has always loved music. Ever since he was really tiny, he was so easily soothed by music of any kind. We took him to the concert and sat in an area where the music wasn't too loud. He was so cute, he was so intrigued by the long grass. Every time I picked him up, he would try to dive bomb out of my arms to get back down to the grass.

This is the, "I'm TIRED.....get me home, in my room with a bottle NOW" look. When we see this, it's our warning that things will be going south quickly. Hey, at least he gives us a heads up.

He's warning Daddy here with the glare.

Lazy Weekends

This type of weekend is the best in my opinion! We just did the norm, on both Saturday and Sunday.....coffee, breakfast, errands, naps, movies, laundry, yard work, etc.
I was a little under the weather the whole weekend. I've felt like I have been in the process catching something since about last Wednesday. I am going to get some blood work done on my lunch to get to the bottom of this. Nothing serious, just precautionary since we don't want Aiden to catch it if I have something contagious.
Here are some more pictures from the weekend:

This is how Aiden informs me he is full. He's so subtle...

Our Bumbo days are numbered.

He cannot get to a standing position on his own yet, but he thought this was pretty fun once he realized he could hold on to the railing. It's almost time to drop the mattress level.

Before our walk on Sunday. He was cranky, tired and refused to nap. Doesn't he look thrilled? The walk worked though, he was out in a matter of minutes.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!
