More Fun In The Sun

The days and the nights have been so beautiful up here in Northern, CA lately that we made another trip out to the river last weekend. It was a good thing we did, as it will probably be our last trip for awhile.

The first reason is due to the fact that all of a sudden, the temperatures have jumped up to over 100 degrees (yuck). And two, our weekends are pretty much full from now until the beginning of August. This weekend my parents are visiting (we love having you guys by the way), then next weekend is Fourth of July, the two weekends after that we will be in Cabo, and then the following weekend, Jeff and I are heading to Cincinnati for Megan's wedding!

In Aiden news, he is lucky enough to have Grandma and Grandpa Martz chasing him around during the days this week while we are at work. Little man was tuckered out last night! He was snoring in my arms only 2 minutes into his night-time bottle.
Still no teeth yet, but he is just days away from crawling. He is so cute rocking back and forth on all fours right now. I've got the video camera on standby to make sure and catch him when he figures it out. Time to baby-proof the house!

Memorial Day Weekend

This past Sunday, a group of us decided that we would leave the babies at home with sitters and spend the day on the river. It's only the 2nd time that we have left Aiden on a weekend day, but he loves Ceci so much that we didn't feel too bad. It was a long full day, but the weather was perfect, plus there was also another reason to celebrate....

As of last Thursday (May 21st), Foamtec has officially been in business for a full year! Things have been going well, even with the down economy. Currently, Jeff is negotiating a contract with a huge online dealer. We will be sure to keep you posted!

Mother's Day

Well, my first Mother's Day was everything I wanted and more. I got to spend the entire weekend with my two favorite guys. On Saturday, we all went to lunch and then Jeff took me to a boutique that is owned by one of his customer's wives. I have to say I got pretty spoiled with the purchases. Then on Sunday we took the boat out to Folsom Lake again. Aiden seemed to really enjoy it, which of course makes Daddy extremely happy. Such a good boater already, and he looks so cute doing it.....

First Time On The Boat

On Saturday the weather was so nice that we decided to take the boat out. Being that this is Jeff's favorite thing to do, we were very curious to see how Aiden would like it. As we figured, he loved it and didn't cry even once.
Once naptime came around we put him in his carseat under the shade, between the two front seats. The cool breeze and the vibration of the motor put him right to sleep. This was a nice chance for us just to relax and lounge in the sun.







Unfortunately, this relaxation did not last for long. Once we got back home I immediately felt extremely sick and flu-ish. For the next 12 hours I came down with the worst case of the flu I have had in a long time. Thinking back, I have not felt that sick in a good 10 years, at least. Thankfully, it was just that, a 12-hour bug and I felt fine by yesterday around noon. Just when we thought all was fine, Jeff came down with the exact same thing. He went to bed about 4:00 pm yesterday, and is currently still in bed now. I think he even got it a little worse than I did! Aiden seems to be totally fine, thank goodness.

I don't like to speculate, but I think this lovely virus came from Aiden's little friend Leo. He was sick on Friday afternoon. We figured that keeping Aiden out of public daycare might avoid some of the germs......wrong again....

Sacramento River

On Saturday, Jeff and I took the boat to the river. We figured we might as well use the boat while we still can. We parked the boat down in Old Sac, walked around for a little bit and of course went to our favorite restaurant Fanny Ann's. Unfortunately, due to my incredible aversion to burgers ever since getting pregnant, I wasn't able to get one of their famous patties, but Jeff claims that they are still just as good as they were last summer.

Folsom Lake

It's FINALLY warm enough here to start taking the boat out. Yesterday, Jeff, myself, my friend Diane and her two adorable kids went out to the lake for the day. Upon arrival it was a little windy, however by about noon it warmed up to about 86 degrees and ended up being a beautiful day. Later in the evening Jeff took me on a date to our favorite pizza place in old town Folsom. I think I can speak for us both when I say, we ate way too much, but it's so good! Definately, my ideal way to spend a Saturday.
