Giggles

Again, sorry for the poor quality, it is from our camera and not our video camera. Still cute anyway......his face gets so serious when he realizes he is being filmed, then he forgets and starts laughing again.

First Time On The Boat

On Saturday the weather was so nice that we decided to take the boat out. Being that this is Jeff's favorite thing to do, we were very curious to see how Aiden would like it. As we figured, he loved it and didn't cry even once.
Once naptime came around we put him in his carseat under the shade, between the two front seats. The cool breeze and the vibration of the motor put him right to sleep. This was a nice chance for us just to relax and lounge in the sun.

Unfortunately, this relaxation did not last for long. Once we got back home I immediately felt extremely sick and flu-ish. For the next 12 hours I came down with the worst case of the flu I have had in a long time. Thinking back, I have not felt that sick in a good 10 years, at least. Thankfully, it was just that, a 12-hour bug and I felt fine by yesterday around noon. Just when we thought all was fine, Jeff came down with the exact same thing. He went to bed about 4:00 pm yesterday, and is currently still in bed now. I think he even got it a little worse than I did! Aiden seems to be totally fine, thank goodness.

I don't like to speculate, but I think this lovely virus came from Aiden's little friend Leo. He was sick on Friday afternoon. We figured that keeping Aiden out of public daycare might avoid some of the germs......wrong again....

Friday Fotos - NO HAIR DAY

Grandpa Martz, you can relate?

(Aiden doesn't quite get the whole "smile for the camera" just yet. )

Best Buddies.....

I cannot help but giggle at this picture. This is Aiden and his best/only friend Leonardo. Leo is our sitter's baby, who is only a day older than Aiden. They are so cute when they play together during the day. Here they are watching cartoons, and as you can see, Aiden is a little more thrilled by what he is watching than Leo is.

Aiden's First Easter

This weekend The City of Folsom put on a big Easter event. Part of this included a HUGE Easter Egg hunt. Even though Aiden is too little to do much hunting, we went to enjoy the weather and hang out with some friends.

Totally passed out:

Box From Grandma

When I was younger, my grandma used to always send me a little box of goodies for each holiday. I remember always being so excited when the mailman would deliver my box. Well my mom has carried on this tradition for Aiden. I helped him open his box this weekend. He had so much fun with all the little goodies. Thanks Grandma!!

Reading his card: The hats a little big, but not for long: Aren't these wonderful?: He played with this little chick for almost an hour:

Sad, Sad Story About Our Neighbor

Folsom News <---- click here

This happened at the house across the street from us yesterday morning. Jeff and I did not really know this kid, however, he was always very frinedly and made a point to wave to me everytime I can home in the evening. It really makes you sit back and realize how precious life is, and how it can change in an instant.

A Day (or night) to Remember

Since a big part of the reason that I started this blog is for somewhat of a virtual scrapbook, I feel like I must mark down this date:

AIDEN SLEPT FROM 8:00 PM to 5:30 AM!
I fed him at 5:30 and he went back to sleep and was still sleeping when I left at 7:30 this morning. YAY!!!!!

FIVE months

Yep, it's true, as of yesterday Aiden is already five months old. I'm not gonna say it, but you know what I am thinking....

Here is the latest update on our little Lemon-Aiden:

As some of you know, last weekend was his first weekend in his crib, in his own room. (funny how when I was pregnant I was fanatical about getting his room done and he didn't even sleep in it until he was 5 months old) The first couple nights he was up quite a few times, but as I have said this is not abnormal as even when he was in our room, he was up every 3-4 hours or so anyway. Yeah, sleep is hard to come by in the Lemon household. Trust me never did I think that we would have a baby that didn't sleep. You start to rack your brain at times wondering where you went wrong in the process when your friends tell you about there baby sleeping thru the night at 8 weeks.

HOWEVER, I feel as though we may be making some headway in the sleep department as of a couple days ago. As I posted on here before, the Pediatrician suggested that we start cereal since he was clearly waking up at night to eat. So, we tried that for about a week and.....FAIL....made no difference. Many people had suggested some sort of sleep training. Basically, what this means is that you help them learn to soothe themselves by letting them cry for about 5 minutes, then going in to soothe them, then the next time letting them cry for about 10 minutes before going in, and so on until you reach about 20 minutes (or something similar to this). After a couple of nights of this, they will hopefully be able to put themselves back to sleep. I have heard many success stories with this however, it just isn't for us. I feel like if he is waking up and eating, then he is hungry and I don't want to "train" him to skip these feedings.

So, onto the next thing. I have started to do what is called "dream feeding". Basically, I put him to bed at 8:00 and then at 10:00 I go in, change his diaper to wake him a little and then feed him again. He is just awake enough to eat, but not fully to the point that he wants to play or anything. The first night he was up only twice, at 2:30 and 5:30. Then last night, I only had to feed him at 4:30 and then he went back to sleep till 7:00. Hopefully, this will continue!

So, now that you know entirely too much about our sons sleeping habits, I will leave you with these.

Happy Hump Day!

Before His Morning Coffee

Thanks for the robe Megan! It finally fits and he wore it all morning on Saturday.

Video: Sitting All By Myself

Sorry for the poor quality, it is from our digital camera, not the actual video camera. Looks like one of those old time movies.

Apparently I'm A Regular Comedian

Email between Jeff and I this morning:

FROM:Stacy
TO:Jeff

Subject: What I do.....let's make this a little clearer

wash/fold all the laundry
cook dinner every single night
straighten/clean up the house the majority of the time
give the baby all his bathes
feed the baby all of his meals
make the bottles every night for the next day
change the majority of the diapers
get the baby dressed for bed/day time
put away the baby's clothes
put the baby to bed every night
feed the baby in the middle of the night
de-constipate the baby and do all the gross jobs, like using the booger sucker
I also have a job during the day like you do

Now, you can pick 3 of these things that you will start doing every day and I will not complain about you leaving your trash around, leaving hair in the sink/counter, (after I have cleaned for 2 hours), not putting in any effort to put your clothes away when I clean EVERY single article of clothing you have, (PLUS put the majority of them away), I also won't complain when you leave clothes on the floor, only take the trash out when it is piled to the very top, and putting things back in the fridge/cupboard when the container is empty.

OR you can take a step back and realize that I hate to nag and these simple things are not a lot to ask.

Now, you may list the things that you do, and if you need me to help with some of them, I can help... let's work together on this before I completely lose my mind and have to get b*tch lips with you again.

Thank you kindly,

God help me.......funny wasn't my goal here.
