Granpa & Granma

Last weekend Aiden got to meet Gramma and Granpa Lemon for the first time. We truly had such a nice weekend. Aiden warmed up to them right away and was talkin' Granpa's ear off by the time they left.
On Saturday we took a nice walk down to Starbucks in the morning, then drove them by Folsom Lake and Folsom Prison. Afterwards, we headed down to Old Sacramento and had lunch at Joe's Crab Shack on the river.

Gramma and Granpa gave Aiden a little elephant that he just loves. Jeff named her "Ellie"....way to be original daddy.

How Well Do You Know Your Husband?

I don't have much news. I am fighting a cold, which is a bummer. I guess it was only a matter of time. It's the first time I have been sick for about a year and a half. Aiden has had a little bit of a snot-nose and has been sleeping with mommy and daddy the last couple nights. Or let me re-phrase that, Aiden has been not-sleeping with mommy and daddy, Jeff and I both went to work on Tuesday with about 3 1/2 hours of sleep, but last night was better. I talked to Aiden earlier today and asked that he kindly go ahead and sleep thru the night tonight, so that will be nice.....

One of my girlfriends sent me this fun survey. If you are reading this and have a blog then TAG-YOUR-IT, fill it out and post it! I sent Jeff the wife one. I will post that to see how well he really knows me, as soon as I get it from him.
Happy Hump Day!

3 Months

I am a little late on this post but I figured better late than never. I am going to blame it on lack of sleep, as my little monkey was up every 2 hours, on the dot last night to eat. That's what I get for posting something about him sleeping through the night. I'm wondering how long these "growth spurts" last? Here is a little video to go along with the picture. To hear the video better, you can push pause on the music player on the lower left hand side of the blog.

Scary Situation

So, I am sure this will not be the last time that Aiden will do something to scare the you-know-what out of me, but it was definitely the first.

Last night, Jeff, Aiden and I were sitting on the couch watching TV. Aiden was snuggled up in my arms, sleeping. He started to make moves like he was waking up so I took the blanket off of him and realized that he was sweating profusely. (Mind you all he had on was a onesie and a blanket) Right as I was taken the blanket off, he woke up completely and started screaming. Next thing you know he was white as a ghost, his lips were blue and he threw up. This was all in a 5 second period.

I stood up immediately and put him on his back on the floor. He looked like he was in a daze and I yelled at Jeff that something was wrong. I picked him up again and he was breathing fine, but was really limp. I told Jeff that I thought we should call 911 - I had no idea what was going on. We ended up holding off for a minute and thankfully he regained all of his color and became alert again. For the remainder of the night before bed he seemed like his normal self.

Talk about an instant heart attack!!!!!!! Needless to say, I was still really shook up and was nervous about putting him to bed later that night. He ended up falling asleep and slept for about 4 hour stretches last night. Of course I was up all night checking on him! Then this morning he woke up and was happy as ever.

I talked to the pediatrician and she said that it sounded like this was very likely to be just a one-time thing. It seems that something (probably some spit up) had blocked his airway in his sleep and he didn't realize it at first, and when he did he panicked (like we all would) and that is what caused the vomiting, the sweating and the blue lips. Either way, I can do without that happening again THANKYOUVERYMUCH.

Happy Birthday Jeff!!!!

A note to my husband:

I know we’ve only been married less than a year, but it seems like much longer, since we’ve known each other for over 10 years. I will never forget the day that we re-connected at the lake. The smile you still aim my direction at least once a day. Wow! Trust me babe, you've still got it.

You are so kind and generous to everyone that crosses your path. Well, except for the customer service representatives that don't speak english. But really, everyone else.

You are so much fun to be around! You truly are my favorite friend to hang out with. I adore your dorky side almost as much as I do the romantic one. When you dance around like a complete idiot, do you know why I really laugh? I chuckle (or shake my head) because you go to such lengths simply to get a response from me. And when you do that fist-pump in the air, following my giggle or sigh, that’s when I laugh for real because you are so thrilled about getting that reaction. The fact that my feedback matters so much to you will never get old. Even if your antics do.

You are endlessly patient with me when I need it most. Which is much more often than I'd like to admit. Conversely, you know precisely when to tell me to ‘suck it up, Stacy.’ Because of your unconditional acceptance, you and I have no secrets and nothing is ‘off limits.’ I know my dreams are safe with you. You only want to know what is important to me. Because I am important to you. Sometimes it really IS that simple. Thank you for teaching me that.

On top of these things, you are such a wonderful father to our baby boy. You are so loving and patient with Aiden, and he loves you so much. The joy that I feel when I sit back and watch the two of you together is immeasurable.

You make me feel incredible when you tell me that you are the luckiest person in the world. Unfortunately that’s not true, you are not the luckiest person in the world...

I am.

I love you ~ Stacy

Bumbo!

This weekend Jeff and I could not resist buying Aiden a Bumbo. When we were testing it out in the store it was just too funny and cute. He currently has a love-hate relationship with it. Sometimes he is really happy to be sitting up like a big boy, other times he wants nothing to do with it.

Oh, and as you can see he eats very well for the babysitter, he is filling out quite nicely : ) To me, he is starting to look more like a little man. Almost all his newborn hair has fallen out and his "real" hair is going to be coming in soon, I think. Looks like he is going to be a toe head like Jeff and I were.

Back To Work

Yes, it's true I actually decided to show up to work yesterday. It wasn't my first choice but it had to be done. Aiden did a little better than mommy did. He was sleeping when I left and I couldn't even bring myself to go and say bye to him. I just had to focus on walking out the door. I shed a few tears once I got to work, but not too bad.
When I came home for lunch he was dead asleep in his swing. Ceci (sitter) said that he hadn't even cried and that he had already taken 2 bottles from her that morning. It was another huge relief when I came home after work and he was just swinging in his swing, smiling and talking at her. I think I am going to be able to make it after all.
The sweetest thing was when I came home and cuddled him it took about 5 minutes for him to completely pass out. This is the good stuff in life.....
