Santa Cruz

On Friday morning before work, Jeff informed me that today he would be taking me on a lunch date. Around 1:00 pm, I met him at our normal lunch date spot. Shortly after we sat down, he passed a card across the table for me to read. In the card he had written a lovely note, including the following details:

* I would not be returning to work that day (he had made arrangements with my boss)
* We would be spending the weekend in Santa Cruz
* Aiden was taken care of
* We would leave as soon as I had my bag packed
* Happy 2nd Anniversary!!

I cried. You see, I had had a minor melt down in my closet that morning (pregnancy related I'm sure) and this was just what I needed.

The weekend couldn't have been better. We didn't look at a watch the whole time. On Friday when we got there, we checked into our hotel (2 blocks from the beach) and walked dowtown for dinner. Then on Saturday, we slept in, walked downtown for coffee, ate lunch on the boardwalk, walked on the beach, did some shopping, and then had dinner that night. Sunday, we really slept in (9 a.m.), I ate breakfast Cheetos in bed while watching TV (pregnancy thing), checked out of the hotel and drove up the coast to Half Moon Bay, where we ate lunch in the harbor. We were home by 4:00 to spend some time with Aiden before another work week was here. It was heaven....

I haven't felt that relaxed in a long time. Thanks babe you are wonderful.

Apparently I'm A Regular Comedian

Email between Jeff and I this morning:

FROM:Stacy
TO:Jeff

Subject: What I do.....let's make this a little clearer

wash/fold all the laundry
cook dinner every single night
straighten/clean up the house the majority of the time
give the baby all his bathes
feed the baby all of his meals
make the bottles every night for the next day
change the majority of the diapers
get the baby dressed for bed/day time
put away the baby's clothes
put the baby to bed every night
feed the baby in the middle of the night
de-constipate the baby and do all the gross jobs, like using the booger sucker
I also have a job during the day like you do

Now, you can pick 3 of these things that you will start doing every day and I will not complain about you leaving your trash around, leaving hair in the sink/counter, (after I have cleaned for 2 hours), not putting in any effort to put your clothes away when I clean EVERY single article of clothing you have, (PLUS put the majority of them away), I also won't complain when you leave clothes on the floor, only take the trash out when it is piled to the very top, and putting things back in the fridge/cupboard when the container is empty.

OR you can take a step back and realize that I hate to nag and these simple things are not a lot to ask.

Now, you may list the things that you do, and if you need me to help with some of them, I can help... let's work together on this before I completely lose my mind and have to get b*tch lips with you again.

Thank you kindly,

5 minutes later: (Phone Rings) Jeff says: " Ha, Ha babe your funny, you should post that on the blog. "

God help me.......funny wasn't my goal here.

ONE YEAR!

Exactly one year from today Jeff and I were married. This past year has been so full of wonderful things and I am so thankful for all of them.

Anyway, I came home from work on Friday, expecting to spend the weekend just hanging out with my two favorite boys. But, to my surprise Jeff had planned for us to celebrate in Napa! He had gotten a hotel, made dinner reservations, tracked down some of the best wineries and even made plans for our friends to watch Aiden. The trip was an absolute blast and such a huge surprise!

We arrived in Napa around 11 am on Saturday, and ate an amazing lunch at the "General Store" in downtown Napa. Then we went to about 4 different wineries and did some wine tasting. The weather was gorgeous. Then in the evening we had a great Italian dinner and listened to some live music. We slept in yesterday, went to breakfast and then headed home. It was so nice to get to spend some real quality time together.

I think it was just what we both needed. I cannot wait to celebrate many, many more years together.

*Oh as you can see, we buzzed Jeff's head last week.....

T.G.I.F.

So, one more week down, we are now at 26 weeks, and I am so glad that today is Friday! I had a really, really nice birthday yesterday. First, I got beautiful flowers and chocolates from Mr. Lemon delivered to my desk at work. Then Jeff took me to this resuarant in Roseville that I have been wanting to try forever. We had the BEST meal and of course followed it with dessert.

My only complaint for the night was that when I had asked our waitress to take a picture of us, she just grabbed the camera with one hand, pushed the button and handed it back to me. Needless to say the picture came out horrible and I was really quite upset about it. I know, sounds dumb and Jeff laughed at me for getting mad, but it's not everyday that we get dressed up and go out, PLUS I won't have this accesssory around my midsection forever and I would like to capture the moments when I can! Anyway, I was fine as soon as she brought my appetizer, but I never got a picture of both of us.

This weekend Jeff and I will be going to my company picnic on Saturday and then the Raging Waters water park with some friends and their kids on Sunday. In between we will try and work some more on the house of course. Oh, but tonight, I get to go to Best Buy to pick out my video camera that Jeff, my parents and my brother gave to me for my birthday. (Thanks guys!!) I'm so excited that I will be able to capture so many upcoming moments on video. No one is safe... :) Hope everyone has a good weekend!

4 years ago.....

Well, as of yesterday Jeff and I have been together for 4 years. I guess now that we are married I should be counting those years, but it is still fun for me to keep track of the total time we have been dating all together.
As most of you are aware, Jeff and I met in High School but did not reconnect again until about 6 years later during a big camping trip, "Lake Fest" out at Apache Lake. I did not know at the time that he was even going, but my friend Lisa informed me that a guy she had just met was going to be there with some of his friends. Later that day she spotted Jeff and his friends in the boat and we swam over to them. I looked at Jeff and said, "hey, I know you, aren't you Jeff Lemon from high school?". He looked at me puzzled like "yeah....but who are you?" I reminded him that I was friends with our mutual friend Libby and he remembered right away.
A few hours later, after everyone had been consuming their fair share of adult beverages, I looked over at Jeff and said "um....excuse me, are you staring at my boobs?" Jeff being kind of shy, looked up at me, shocked that I had caught him and after a short pause he said "yes, yes I was...", and the rest is history!

Here is then:

A Beautiful Day

It was brought to my attention today that many of our friends and family members have not seen any of the pictures that were taken at the wedding. I realized that I could fix this problem right away. Here are just a few of the pictures from our very special day. (Our photographer sent us four CD's totalling 1040 proofs!) I also want to mention that this day would not have been half as amazing without the support of our wonderful family and friends. Jeff and I are truly blessed to have all of you and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for that.
