Vote on Nursery Decor

So I have started to contemplate what I am going to do with the nursery. What I do know so far, is that I prefer the darker stained furniture and we will be doing something other than blue, most likely green. However, there are so many different options as far as bedding. Please vote on your favorite one on the right side of the blog. Thanks!

Feeling Less " Dainty" ?

"By pregnancy at 20 weeks you may be feeling slightly less dainty and slightly more bulky as your belly continues to grow."

I had to laugh out loud when I read this. Less dainty? What if you never were exactly the dainty type to begin with? I have a feeling that this will make my dad laugh as well, as he and my mother have often been first hand witness to my clumsiness. In fact the other day I "fell off" the shoes I was wearing, not an unusual occurence at all.

The Bun is Half Done.

Yes! Today we are officially half way there, give or take a few days I'm sure. I really feel blessed that the pregnancy has gone so good up to this point.

I was originally holding off on buying too many things until we #1, found out if it was a boy or girl and #2, are in a house. We won't be able to buy any furniture for the nursery until the beginning of September when we move. So, until then, Aiden and I went shopping and bought his first set of onsies last night. Actually, believe it or not, it is the first thing I have personally purchased for him at all. I have been told that onsies are something that we will need a lot of as they will be getting changed often. It was really so fun looking at all the tiny clothes. I'm sure he will convince me to do some more shopping this weekend...."It's not for me, it's for the baby!"

Busy, Busy, Busy.....

This morning I realized that I have not posted since Monday, however, things have been somewhat uneventful. This is a good thing though, as Jeff and I will be very busy starting this weekend. On Saturday we will be moving the Foamtec office from Stockton to Rancho Cordova. This will cut about 110 miles per day from Jeff's commute! (I know, crazy right?) I obviously will not be doing much on my end besides observing and cleaning, but I am pretty good at both of those things.
Then next Wednesday, Nick is coming into town. Once he gets into Sacramento, we will drive down to Lake San Antonio to camp for the 4th of July. Our cousins Kami and Zac will be meeting us down there which is going to be fun as the four of us cousins have not all been able to spend a lot of time together for quite awhile.
Then the weekend after that, Jeff and I will be making our annual trip to Cabo with the family for 10 days. No explanation needed on how much we always look forward to this. This will be a much needed and well deserved vacation, for Jeff especially since he has been working so hard with the new business. Which thanks to him is coming along beautifully, I might add.

Aiden Christopher Lemon

I think he has my nose....

Hard to see, but it's there....

He's waving at you....

Sucking his thumb, already taking after his daddy....

IT'S A BOY!

Well according to the ultra sound technician, there is no mistaking that Jeff and I are going to be having a baby boy. I cannot lie, I am getting choked up just typing this wonderful news. We are absolutely ecstatic! I was hoping that my intuition was correct, and it was. Our little Aiden is still measuring right on target for a due date of November 14th or 15th. He is currently 11 oz, with a heart beat of 145 beats per minute. I will forever remember the feeling that I had today laying on that table, tears streaming down my face, holding Jeff's hand, watching our little angel squirm around sucking his thumb. I will be posting the ultra sound pictures later as soon as I get them scanned into the computer.

"Not Completely Unheard Of....."

Oh yes, this is the response that I received from my doctor yesterday after inquiring about not feeling the baby. Well, needless to say this response was unsatisfactory to me and did not put me at ease, by any means. So instead of dwell on it, I decided to go home and feel the baby move once and for all. I got home, put on some comfy clothes, proceeded to drink a huge glass of orange juice and I laid there......

Nothing.....so I started massaging my belly moving it from side to side, up and down, trying to breathe very slowly and quietly. Right then Jeff comes home, smiled, looked down at me on the floor and asked me what I was doing. I said "I am going to feel the baby move" he looked at me and said "Oh, you felt it?!!" I said "No, but I am going to so please, SSHHHHH!"

About 5 minutes later, I experienced what felt was like a litte muscle spasm right below my belly button, then again in the same spot. A few seconds later I felt a tiny little tap a little more to the left. I tell you though, it was so faint that if I wasn't laying there barely breathing I wouldn't have felt a thing. Was it the baby? I don't know, but for goodness sake let's just say it was! Now I can rest my nerves until I see the baby on Monday.

Happy 19 weeks today!

High or Low?

So according to the myth: "The general story goes that, if you're carrying low, you're having a boy. If you are carrying high, then you must be having a girl."

Me personally, I tend to think I am carrying in the middle. So I hate to even ponder what that means for us. Just kidding, that's why they call it a MYTH. Anyway, this is all I have for you so far today.

I am hoping to hear back from my doctor sometime today as to why he may think that I haven't felt my baby move yet....... : ( As my mom would say, "Patience is a virtue, my dear."

4 years ago.....

Well, as of yesterday Jeff and I have been together for 4 years. I guess now that we are married I should be counting those years, but it is still fun for me to keep track of the total time we have been dating all together.
As most of you are aware, Jeff and I met in High School but did not reconnect again until about 6 years later during a big camping trip, "Lake Fest" out at Apache Lake. I did not know at the time that he was even going, but my friend Lisa informed me that a guy she had just met was going to be there with some of his friends. Later that day she spotted Jeff and his friends in the boat and we swam over to them. I looked at Jeff and said, "hey, I know you, aren't you Jeff Lemon from high school?". He looked at me puzzled like "yeah....but who are you?" I reminded him that I was friends with our mutual friend Libby and he remembered right away.
A few hours later, after everyone had been consuming their fair share of adult beverages, I looked over at Jeff and said "um....excuse me, are you staring at my boobs?" Jeff being kind of shy, looked up at me, shocked that I had caught him and after a short pause he said "yes, yes I was...", and the rest is history!

Here is then:

Here is now:

Lemon Squeezy

It's been a really slow day, so what better to do then shop? I know this is something that Jeff just loves to hear, BUT... "It's not for me, it's for the baby." This phrase seems to also work with the necessary soft serve ice cream trips to McDonald's (for now). Hee Hee.........but I digress.
So, I was shopping online, and I was surprised to find that it is really hard to locate cute little onesies with lemons on them. I was hoping to find some really fun ones for our little lemon but really had no luck. Here is one that I found, but I am not that pleased with it. This was actually the only one I could find. Guess I will have to dig a little deeper. Since I am still just a beginner with this baby shopping stuff, if anyone has any suggestions on where to find items such as these, please do let me know.

Happy Father's Day!!

To all dads and "soon-to-be" dads, I hope you have a wonderful day! Of course I want to wish a very Happy Father's Day to my dad. As most of you know my father and I are incredibly close and I am the person I am today, because of him. I feel so blessed because not only will my child have an incredible father in Jeff, but also an amazing role model and grandfather in my dad. We love you, see you soon!

Note: Thanks to another amazing dad and our friend David, we have this picture. Happy Father's Day to you and Vince!

Sacramento River

On Saturday, Jeff and I took the boat to the river. We figured we might as well use the boat while we still can. We parked the boat down in Old Sac, walked around for a little bit and of course went to our favorite restaurant Fanny Ann's. Unfortunately, due to my incredible aversion to burgers ever since getting pregnant, I wasn't able to get one of their famous patties, but Jeff claims that they are still just as good as they were last summer.

It's Friday the 13th and.....

I am starting my 5th month of my pregnancy today. I really feel so good. I am just so incredibly anxious to feel the baby move for the first time. I thought it would maybe be last week, but no such luck. Jeff and I have both noticed that my belly has really "popped" since the picture I posted below. IF I get a good one, I will post it later on today.

"Your fetus has become amazingly mobile (at least compared to you), passing the hours yawning, hiccuping, rolling, twisting, kicking, punching, sucking and swallowing. And baby is finally big enough that you will be able to feel those movements soon."

Baby Names

Jeff and I have officially decided on names. No, neither of them have a specific meaning to us personally, just ones that I (we) are particularly fond of and have been for awhile. I hesitate to say "we" because Jeff only remembers the boy name. He is always asking, "What is the name again if it's a girl?" I feel lucky that he is so easy going about things and pretty much let's me make the decisions.

If it is a little boy, we will name him Aiden Christopher.
If it is a little girl we will name her Addyson Bailey.

Since I have found that most people are going to ask, I have located the official meanings and per my research:
Aiden = Little Fire
Addyson = Child of Adam (or Jeff)

Stay tuned to find out!

Great News!

Jeff and I received the news today that the results for the Expanded AFP test (done for baby) are "negative". For those of you who are unaware, the Expanded AFP test is a screening test for Down Syndrome, trisomy 18, neural tube defects, abdominal wall defects, and Smith-Lemli-Opitz syndrome. As you can imagine this was a very reassuring thing to hear! Just one less thing to worry about. PHEW!

That is quite enough for now, thank you.

So, I am sitting reading one of my pregnancy books, (mind you I am in one of the later chapters regarding the hospital and delivery stage) and all of a sudden I start feeling my heart racing and getting really dizzy. I was so into it, I think I was starting to panic a little internally with all of the information (much of which, I might add would be TMI for this blog or even my husband for that matter). I have to laugh at myself a little after the fact because up till now I have considered myself to be pretty laid back when it comes to this pregnancy and really don't let myself get flustered. I am thinking that maybe I will take a breather from the research for a day or so and put the books down.

Folsom Lake

It's FINALLY warm enough here to start taking the boat out. Yesterday, Jeff, myself, my friend Diane and her two adorable kids went out to the lake for the day. Upon arrival it was a little windy, however by about noon it warmed up to about 86 degrees and ended up being a beautiful day. Later in the evening Jeff took me on a date to our favorite pizza place in old town Folsom. I think I can speak for us both when I say, we ate way too much, but it's so good! Definately, my ideal way to spend a Saturday.

17 Weeks

Yep, today marks 17 weeks, the last week of my 4th month. I can't hardly believe it! Only 23 more weeks to go! According to the experts the baby is about the size of a pomegranate by now. Now I am just waiting to feel a little kick. ~

"Your baby during week 17 is now very mobile, gleefully moving it's joints here, there and everywhere and will continue to do so as you continue your pregnancy week by week. The cartilage making up the skeleton in your baby's body is starting to transform into bone. At pregnancy 17 weeks time your baby should be hearing things. Your baby will start putting on some layers of fat in the weeks to come, though at this point in time your baby is made up of primarily water."

National Doughnut Day!?!?

It was brought to my attention that today is National Doughnut Day! Who knew there was such a thing?? As you can imagine, (if you have read the post below) I was thrilled to hear this news. Looks like that weekend trip to Krispy Kreme I had planned will be occurring sooner. Just thought I would share.......

A Beautiful Day

It was brought to my attention today that many of our friends and family members have not seen any of the pictures that were taken at the wedding. I realized that I could fix this problem right away. Here are just a few of the pictures from our very special day. (Our photographer sent us four CD's totalling 1040 proofs!) I also want to mention that this day would not have been half as amazing without the support of our wonderful family and friends. Jeff and I are truly blessed to have all of you and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for that.

My Current Loves

1st new love: Yep, I have tried and I just cannot walk away from them. Since I am limited to what I can and can't eat or drink I have found excitement in the small things.....satisfying my pregnancy cravings for one. Crunchy Cheetos are definitely one of them along with warm, glazed doughnuts. I would travel quite a few miles for a Krispy Kreme these days and just this morning I made the discovery that there actually is a location within 20 miles. No longer will I have to settle for the mediocre ones from the grocery store. I know, real healthy huh? But what fun would it be if I was craving brussels sprouts and tofu?

2nd new love: I have to say that I am so pleased with my new Nissan Murano. Jeff and I decided that our convertible wasn't exactly suitable for the new baby, so for the last few months I decided to research all the different types of crossovers that you hear so much hype about. The Murano ended up being the winner and I could not be happier with it. It gets much better gas mileage than our old car and I was amazed at how much room it had. Now all I need is the baby to put in the back seat!

the "Baby Bump"

I originally had told my parents that they would have to wait until July when we met them in Cabo to see the growing belly, however, I suppose that I can give in and post just one before then....

This picture is actually from today (16 1/2 weeks), and the ultrasound was at 12 weeks. I have to say that I am still getting used to my pants getting tighter everyday, however, I am well aware that this is only the beginning. It just wouldn't be right to complain about a perfectly good excuse to go shopping!

So, here it goes.......

Ok, so I figured this would be a good way for Jeff and I to give friends and family members updates on what is going on in our day to day life. We are at a very exciting time in our life for many reasons (just got married, starting own business and a BABY on the way) and we want to share our experiences with the ones that mean the most to us. I will be the one posting all the time, Jeff is just an innocent bystander in all of this : ) Please note I am a total beginner at this and hopefully I will get better at this as the days go by. I have to thank my dear friend Katie for suggesting this to me and David with his adorable blog as my inspiration. So, again here it goes........
